Established in 1998 by Soho House & Co, Cowshed revolutionised spa and skincare with its quirky, British charm. Rooted in the belief that natural ingredients enhance well-being, Cowshed’s co-founders, Nick Jones and Richard Wood, created a brand known for its luxurious products and holistic approach. Born at Babington, the very first Cowshed spa was built in a renovated milking shed back in 1998. These days, Cowshed has 13 spa locations worldwide, with an extensive range of expert formulas to bring a little relaxation home, too.Are cowshed products safe to use during pregnancy? Essential oils are used in all cowshed products; however, they aren’t deemed harmful during pregnancy unless used in high doses. All our fragrance concentrations are compliant with guidelines set by ifra (international fragrance association).Cowshed is the perfect place to indulge in some pre or post pregnancy pampering with our specialised products and treatments. These treatments are designed for clients that are 12 weeks pregnant or more, no treatments can be given in the first trimester.Today there are 14 global Cowshed spas, including the six in the UK (the others being a standalone in Primrose Hill, London, and those located within the capital’s Shoreditch House and The Ned, Oxfordshire’s Soho Farmhouse, and Cornwall’s St Moritz Hotel).

Cowshed’s name actually bears a link to its beginnings. An old cowshed is where it began for the brand. Soho House’s Founder Nick Jones created the original Cowshed spa as a retreat within a retreat, extending the hospitality of the House into wellness and wellbeing for guests. The products used in our treatments are all made in England, using a variety of organic ingredients, wildcrafted plant extracts and pure essential oils of the highest quality. Cowshed has evolved into a holistic range of products and treatments, all bound together through our continued use of natural botanicals from sustainable sources containing the highest quality essential oils.In healthy skin parabens are non-irritating. However in fragile, sensitive or young skin parabens may cause skin irritation, contact dermatitis and Rosacea. Cowshed products are paraben free as they are formulated to be gentle on the skin whilst releasing the aroma therapeutic properties of essential oils.
