What is the history of Champneys?
Founded in 1925 Opening as a health farm and known as the Nature Cure Resort, it was the first of its kind in the UK. Having been diagnosed with a seemingly incurable heart condition in 1890, a young Stanley sought a solution in the practice of osteopathy and diet. Founded in 1925, we’ve been at the forefront of wellness since our inception, when we emerged as one of the first health resorts in the world. Stanley Lief founded Champneys in Tring which started life as a Nature Cure Resort and was the first of its kind in the UK.
