What not to do before a spa day?
Have light meals before your spa day to keep comfortable during treatments. If opting for exfoliation, skip shaving 24 hours before to avoid skin irritation. To maximize aromatherapy benefits, skip using perfumes beforehand. Leave your jewelry at home to prevent misplacement during your spa experience. This article is going back to basics with the three most common types of spa services — massage, facials, and body therapy — and how they impact the skin. One way to make your spa unique is to offer treatments that are not commonly found in other spas. Consider offering services such as hot stone massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and cupping. If you’ve ever wondered what the most popular service in a spa is, let’s just say it’s the one that makes clients sigh with relief and whisper, Take my money. Spoiler alert: It’s massage therapy, and it’s not even close. But hey, facials and body wraps are putting up a good fight for that second-place ribbon. The most common spa treatments are massages, manicures/pedicures and facials. However, you might also see offered such treatments as a body scrub/exfoliation, a fingers or toes file & polish (like a mini manicure or pedicure) or a scalp massage. What do you use first in a spa?
The best way to ensure safety for yourself, your guests, and the hot tub is to use a pH increaser, pH decreaser, metal removal (if using bore water), calcium hardness and a form of sanitiser when starting your hot tub for the first time. Chlorine or bromine are added to hot tub water to prevent bacteria growth and kill other things that you don’t want in your water. Master Spas recommends that hot tub owners use chlorine, as it works in union with the EcoPur Charge mineral filtration system. When your sanitizer is low, it can cause cloudy water. This can be done by adding 60g of chlorine granules per 1,500 litres of water to start the sanitation process and allowing the level to drop to 3-5mg/l (mg per litre) before using your spa. To dose your hot tub ready for use, we advise using chlorine or bromine granules.
What makes a good day spa?
It should have a positive atmosphere: Spas should look and smell good, be comfortable and peaceful. The main goal of a spa is to make users feel more relaxed. If you’re not feeling relaxed within the spa setting, it’s probably not a good spa. For your Spa Day, choose from different decor including foil balloons, latex balloons, or even create a balloon arch. When choosing décor, draw from nature for inspiration to enhance the relaxation of a spa.
