What is Pristina known for?
Pristina is a home to many monuments, churches, mosques and other historical and cultural landmarks including the abundance of museums, galleries and theaters making it a new hub that is finally gaining its reputation of the attractive tourist destination. Prizren. Prizren is the undisputed jewel in Kosovo’s crown — and our personal favourite. The historic capital of Kosovo, this small city has a beautifully intact old town with several sights worth visiting.During the 1990s conflicts, the majority fled to Serbia or Israel. Today, there is a small Jewish community in Prizren, numbering around 50 members. Few sites of Jewish heritage remain in Kosovo. There are two Jewish cemeteries in the capital, Priština, but there may be traces of half a dozen other cemeteries.Prishtina is not that big, 2 days for the city, or 3 if you wanna include the city side. Prizren is very Turkish-influenced. The majority of people speak turkish. It has a castle you can visit too!Arriving in the city life of Pristina You will get a first feeling for city life along the main pedestrian street Bulevardi Nënë Tereza.With their picturesque settings and rich cultural heritage, the cities of Prizren, Peja and Gjakova are some of the most popular places to visit in Kosovo.
Is Pristina good for tourists?
Pristina is the exciting new capital of Kosovo. As a university city, it’s full of surprisingly trendy cafes and amazing vegetarian eateries (yas! It is a fun and friendly city to visit as a solo traveller too, and one of many unique things to do in the Western Balkans. Pristina is also a gateway to the rest of Kosovo – from the mountain city of Peja in the west to Prizren, the cultural capital, in the south. Many visitors have just one or two days to explore Pristina before heading elsewhere.
