What is a wet shower?
A wetroom is a totally waterproofed or tanked bathroom with a shower area at the same level as the rest of the floor. The water drains away through a flush drain within the shower area. As the walls and floor are sealed by a waterproof membrane, there is no risk of runaway water causing damage. Unlike traditional shower enclosures, wet rooms do not require any raised platforms or shower enclosure trays, making them ideal for anyone with limited motor skills, wheelchair users, or those with any other disability that inhibits their mobility.A wetroom provides an accessible shower for children and those with mobility problems. One of the biggest benefits when it comes to wetrooms is accessibility. For anyone who may have trouble getting in and out of the bath or shower, wetrooms can be a liberating, luxurious solution to bathing difficulties.A wet room is an open-plan bathroom with no compartments to restrict space, such as a bath or shower enclosure. They typically feature a vinyl or tiled floor that has been waterproofed (or sometimes called ‘tanked’).
