Do you wear undergarments at a spa?

Most spas will provide you with a robe, towel, disposable underwear, and slippers or slops – however, they should communicate any clothing that you need to bring with you such as swimwear.Therapists are trained to respect client’s modesty at all times; for facials we recommend you remove your upper body clothing; for massages please leave underwear on. You will be covered by a towel throughout the treatment.It’s important to keep in mind that you will be undressing during your massage so make sure to wear something easy to take off and on. Once you are changed, you’ll be spending most of your time in a robe anyway!When you first arrive at the spa, you’ll want to wear something comfortable yet stylish. A casual, easy-to-remove outfit is ideal since you’ll likely be changing into a robe or swimwear soon after your arrival. Think of a loose-fitting dress, soft leggings, or a comfortable tracksuit.Do feel free to ask what you should take off and leave on, as Spas can vary in their policies. Generally if they provide a Robe, it’s safe to say they expect you to disrobe.There are no rules on what you should wear to your spa day, but we recommend something comfortable – you are coming to relax, so you do not need to wear formal attire or anything that may be uncomfortable or restrictive! That goes for your underwear too – comfy is the name of the game here.A hotel SPA is not the right place for such outfits. For the SPA salon, it’s worth bringing clothes that are flexible, do not restrict movement, are made of natural materials (cotton, linen, muslin) and can be easily put on over skin that will be moist or smeared with oils or balms.
Can you wear a bra in a spa?

Take It All Off (Or Don’t) For massages and body treatments, ideally you disrobe completely (that means underwear, too). Most spas offer paper panties to wear during body treatments (like scrubs, wraps, or self-tanning)—they don’t cover much, but enough to provide a modicum of modesty.That choice is totally up to you. Most clients will remove their undergarments and use the towels provided to partly cover themselves. Some people prefer to wear their own briefs throughout the Thai massage and that is totally fine also.TIPS FOR TAKING OFF CLOTHES FOR A MASSAGE Always leave your underwear on. Women should wear a bra and briefs / pants, while men should wear briefs / boxer shorts – imagine what you would wear to the beach. If you’re feeling uncomfortable taking your clothes off, talk to your massage therapist.For individuals who are not comfortable removing clothing, you can request a clothes-on massage. For individuals who plan on having a full body massage and are comfortable with removing clothing, the standard is to keep your undergarments on.
What do you wear on a spa day?
Spa days are meant to be relaxing, so let that be reflected in what you wear. Put on something comfy like loose pants, or leggings and a top. Although be sure to check whether there are any recommendations or guidance from the spa itself as they may have a dress code if you’re going to eat there too. In the SPA area, guests must wear swimwear and slippers suitable for wet and slippery environments. The floor in the spa area may be slippery, so please take care. Long hair must be tied or pinned up. It is recommended not to wear jewellery in the spa area.If it is your first time visiting the spa, it is likely you’ll be asked to complete a health questionnaire upon arriving at reception. A member of staff may ask you to remove your shoes and socks and to slip your feet into a pair of slippers while you do this, to encourage you to start relaxing as soon as possible.
