You can park for free at the lodore falls hotel & spa if you buy a drink at their bar or pop in for a bite to eat. You can also park at the national trust kettlewell car park and walk around 0. This is a pay and display car park that is free for national trust members. The lodore falls hotel & spa is located in the borrowdale valley, just outside of keswick with spectacular views of derwentwater and the catbells mountain range. Where to park for Lodore Falls?
The nearest place to park, for those not staying at the hotel, is at the National Trust’s Kettlewell pay and display car park. At the main entrance to the front of the park you’ll see the University and Salford Museum and Art gallery. Here you’ll also find the car park. Please note there is a small charge.
Where to park to walk Bassenthwaite Lake?
The National Park parking area at Blackstock Point, near the southern tip of Bassenthwaite, gives access to paths along the lakeshore. If you don’t fancy stopping, be warned that both the A591 to the east and the A66 to the west offer very limited views of the lake. Parking. There are a number of laybys on the A66 alongside Bassenthwaite where you can park for free. In addition you can take the B5291 off the A66 at the northern end of the lake and park at Banks Point (Grid Ref NY 202 319).
