The Barbican Centre includes theatres, galleries, concert halls and cinemas, plus a large conservatory with over 1,500 species of plants and trees, a library, restaurants, bars, a shop and a picturesque lakeside oasis.The Barbican estate was built like a castle, with castle walls; and that seems actually to deter the nastier elements of the outside world. You can walk round the Barbican Estate late at night and feel safe. Terraced properties sold for an average of £1,766,167. Unlike its northern neighbour, however, the Barbican Estate was not social housing.
