The North York Moors is a great place to take your dog for a walk. We want you and your dog to be safe and happy while out and about, so please be a responsible owner and make sure your dog is always a welcome visitor to the National Park. The North York Moors Railway offers steam train journeys from Pickering Station to Whitby and there is no need for your dogs to miss out as they are welcome to travel with you. Dogs are charged £3.Dogs cannot occupy train seats. Dogs must be kept on a lead throughout the entire journey and when at stations, unless they’re in a pet carrier. You may be asked to leave the train with your dog if it is causing ‘nuisance or inconvenience to other travellers.Well behaved dogs are welcome on the Spa Valley Railway, but please keep them on a lead at all times and do not allow them to sit on the seats. Unlike many other railways we make no charge for dogs, many of our volunteers bring their beloved dogs for a ride with us once or twice a year.Dogs are generally allowed on the North York Moors Railway, although they may not be on specific dining or event routes. What is the best dog friendly attraction in Yorkshire?
Malham cove has lots of walks and is dog friendly. Hunmanby bay near Filey is a dog friendly beach all year round. Ilkley moor, otley Chevin, Grassinginton and Burnstall are good too. The larger of Whitby’s two wonderful dog-friendly beaches, Whitby West Cliff, welcomes pets all year round too although part of the beach is off-limits during the summer months. Are dogs allowed on buses in Yorkshire?
