Pub and hotel firm Daniel Thwaites has acquired the Langdale Chase hotel on Lake Windermere, for an undisclosed sum. The Grade II-listed, 29-bedroom country house hotel was originally built in 1895 and has been run as a hotel since 1930. Built in 1890 as a lavish private residence, Langdale Chase first opened its doors as a hotel in 1937 and houses many special architectural features, including the original boathouse.
