We still chose the afternoon tea but doubled the food. It was the priciest meal we had while in London, but we enjoyed all the sandwiches and desserts. Everything was fresh, the salmon sandwiches were probably the best ones! The tea was phenomenal (we ordered the Red Velvet tea). We really enjoyed the high tea and Kensington Gardens. The gardens are such a serene and peaceful place. The tea was great and the food was delicious.I found everything very good and tasty. The waiters are very available for any request, even for taking photographs. The tea and juice can be taken as many times as desired. The price of around £60, plus service around 12.I had previously had high tea at Harrod’s in London and honestly this experience at the Empress felt a bit more authentic. It’s definitely not cheap, at about $125 CDN per person including tip, but well worth it if you have 90 minutes and you’ve never had high tea! Lovely afternoon tea in the morning!
