Who owns Indian Springs?

It became a popular wellness destination for generations of Bay Area families. In 1988, Pat and John Merchant purchased the property and, out of respect for those who were here first, renamed it Indian Springs Calistoga. John Merchant didn’t always plan to go into real estate. Before he became the owner of Calistoga’s well-known Indian Springs Resort and Spa and several other local properties, Merchant joined the Jesuits, served in Vietnam and studied to be a doctor.
