SoHo rentals average $4,650 for a studio rental to $18,000 for a 4-bedroom rental. The median price of all currently available listings is $13,950, or roughly $9 per square feet. For the apartment units and housing in August 2025, median rents have risen substantially over the last year.
Why is Soho House called Soho?
While New York’s Soho gets its moniker from being South of Houston Street, London’s story is a bit more historical! Turns out, Soho in London has roots dating back to the 16th century when it was a royal hunting ground. The name Soho actually comes from an old hunting call used back then! The name SoHo derives from the area being South of Houston Street, and was coined in 1962 by Chester Rapkin, an urban planner and author of The South Houston Industrial Area study, also known as the Rapkin Report. The name also recalls Soho, an area in London’s West End.
