The late Victorian mansion, set among acres of prime Surrey parkland, is built for businessman Abraham Dixon. Some 13 years later, in 1879, the man who would later be known as Lord Beaverbrook, Max Aitken, was born in Ontario, Canada. William Maxwell Aitken, 1st Baron Beaverbrook. Max Aitken was an extremely influential media tycoon and politician. Born in Canada, Aitken formed the Canada Cement Company in 1909. He moved to Britain from Canada in 1910 having made his fortune as an entrepreneur.
