Do you wear anything under your robe in a spa?
Don’t stress about what to wear under your robe. If you want to wear loose-fitting clothing under your robe, you’re more than welcome. Keep in mind that the spa can get warm, so don’t layer up too much! If you plan on relaxing in the thermal pool, wear a swimsuit or trunks under your robe. After check-in, you’ll receive a spa robe and slippers to help you relax before your treatment. You will then use the designated changing rooms and lockers to store your belongings securely. Even if you feel self-conscious in a robe and slippers, remember that everyone at the spa will be dressed in the same attire.
Do you strip at a spa?
For massages and body treatments, ideally you disrobe completely (that means underwear, too). Most spas offer paper panties to wear during body treatments (like scrubs, wraps, or self-tanning)—they don’t cover much, but enough to provide a modicum of modesty. For individuals who plan on having a full body massage and are comfortable with removing clothing, the standard is to keep your undergarments on. It’s a good idea not to remove all of your clothing unless your therapist has requested you do so.
