Can you jump into a 5 foot pool?

Shallow Depths and Impact Injuries Most above ground pools are around 4 to 5 feet deep. Not exactly Olympic diving depth. That means even a simple jump can end badly if you hit the bottom wrong. There’s just not enough water to cushion the impact properly — and the sides and floor weren’t built to take the hit. The American Red Cross recommends a minimum of 9 feet of water depth for head first dives including dives from pool decks.
