What is a solo spa?
With no one waiting around for you after your treatment, a solo spa day is the perfect opportunity to book in for that indulgent experience you’ve been eyeing up, which just so happens to last longer than an hour. There’s a perfect spa experience for everyone. Bringing new meaning to the term ‘me time’, a solo spa break is the perfect way to relax and unwind, really take charge of your wellbeing and indulge in the self care you deserve.
Do you wear a bra to the spa?
Wear Comfortable Undergarments Choose a supportive bra that allows for easy movement and doesn’t dig into your skin. Wearing the right undergarments will ensure that you feel comfortable and confident throughout your spa experience. If you’re concerned about what to wear under the robe, don’t be. Most people are nude under those spa robes, but it’s perfectly O. K. Many spas also offer disposable underwear just for that purpose. You can ask for a pair when you’re shown to the locker room.Spas want their guests to be as comfortable as possible, so if you would prefer to arrive in non-restrictive garments, such as gym wear or lounge wear then that will be absolutely fine. After this, you will change and spend most of your time in a robe anyway.Remove All Garments. Being fully nude in front of others might be difficult for first-timers, but it is a part of the authentic Korean bathhouse experience. If you feel uncomfortable, you may cover yourself with a towel while walking around before getting into the baths.
What do I wear to a spa day?
This depends on what treatments you have booked and the facilities you would like to use. In general, you should wear either swimwear or underwear. If your booked treatment requires full or partial nudity, you will be given time to undress before the treatment starts. I usually recommend wearing a t-shirt and yoga pants/sweatpants/shorts. It’s common to be barefoot during the session, but if you prefer socks, you’re free to leave socks on, or I have some for you to borrow if your feet get cold. And always feel free to ask for a blanket!
Do you shower after a spa day?
While you can shower after a massage, waiting at least 2-3 hours allows your body to fully benefit from the oils. You can take a lukewarm shower (skip the hot water) a few hours after the massage. Remember to use a gentle cleanser to rinse off any excess oil, but stay away from harsh soaps and scrubbing. If you do not drink water after a massage, you may experience some short-term effects such as feeling thirsty or experiencing dry mouth. It is important to drink water after a massage to help your body flush out any toxins that may have been released during the massage.
