During a couple spa session, the two people receive treatments at the same time, side by side, in a private and intimate environment. What makes a good day spa?
It should have a positive atmosphere: Spas should look and smell good, be comfortable and peaceful. The main goal of a spa is to make users feel more relaxed. If you’re not feeling relaxed within the spa setting, it’s probably not a good spa. Most spas want you to be comfortable and relaxed, so arrive wearing loose, comfortable clothing like gym clothes, yoga pants and t-shirts. Once you are changed, you’ll be spending most of your time in a robe anyway!Furthermore, make sure to arrive in comfortable clothing. If you and your partner intend to stay dressed during your visit, you’ll want to wear loose fitting clothing that is soft and allows airflow. Your trip to the spa should be nothing less than relaxing, and you don’t want to be uncomfortable.I usually recommend wearing a t-shirt and yoga pants/sweatpants/shorts. It’s common to be barefoot during the session, but if you prefer socks, you’re free to leave socks on, or I have some for you to borrow if your feet get cold. And always feel free to ask for a blanket!This depends on what treatments you have booked and the facilities you would like to use. In general, you should wear either swimwear or underwear.Comfortable clothing and underwear There are no rules on what you should wear to your spa day, but we recommend something comfortable – you are coming to relax, so you do not need to wear formal attire or anything that may be uncomfortable or restrictive!
What else can you do on a spa day?
Once your treatments are complete, you can spend the rest of your spa day using the health and fitness facilities included as part of your package. You can have a dip in the pool, detox in the sauna, unwind in the relaxation room, or get your heart pumping in the gym* – it’s completely up to you. Women usually remove their bras to allow the massage therapist to work on the back and shoulder area without getting massage oil or lotion on the bra. If your problem area is your low back, hips, buttocks, or groin, tight-fitting or large underwear can sometimes get in the way of massage work.During a couples massage, it is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing or a robe provided by the spa. Most couples choose to undress to their comfort level under the privacy of the massage sheets. Therapists are trained to ensure modesty and privacy with proper draping techniques during the session.Comfort is Key: Choose loose, comfortable clothing for before and after your massage. What is the best order for a spa day?
Think about the order of your services (and when you want to eat). Give yourself an hour or two to digest before any bodywork, or eat lightly before a massage. Schedule massages before facials, or else all the products that have been applied to your skin may come off on the face cradle. Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your massage that you can easily take off and put back on. Dress down to your comfort level during your appointment. You can leave your undergarments on during your massage, or you can go bare. Take a shower beforehand, and be sure to drink plenty of water.
