Is it safe to walk around York at night?
In general police, security staff and Street Angels do an excellent job in York and are always very visible. The city centre is very well lit. Though you will see anti-social behaviour (this will always be the case it night time economies) I never feel unsafe in York. Safest Areas to Stay in New York City Lower Manhattan and Midtown are perfect for tourists, during the day, the streets are full of locals and visitors, and you really don’t have to worry. I’ve spent most of my time there, and it always felt comfortable and safe.
