Can you walk around York in a day?
Getting around York York is not large and it’s best to get around by foot. I did nearly 30k steps in my 29 hours in the city! We stayed overnight at the Moxy hotel on the other side of the city from the station, and a cab ride was only £5 when we didn’t want to make the 20 minute walk back with the suitcase. York is a very walkable city with all the popular attractions in close proximity, a stroll down the cobbled streets, a wander down the river and a walk around the Ings makes for a really enjoyable experience.Both ancient and modern history has made York the incredible city it is today. There’s the iconic York Minster and architecture from medieval times, its magnificent Georgian town houses and its Victorian railway station.
