Is The Ned worth visiting?
We chose to stay 3 nights at The Ned as a treat to celebrate our anniversary – and it was so worth it. The hotel is stunning, conveniently located steps from the tube, the staff are welcoming and attentive, and the rooms are perfectly cozy and comfortable – the beds and bedding are so luxurious and amazing. Standard Ned’s Club membership costs £3,465 annually, with an under-30s option available at £2,200 annually. Discounted memberships are available to existing Soho House members. Ned Friends membership costs £250 annually or £25 per month.Today, The Ned is primarily owned by Ron Burkle, who is also a majority shareholder in Soho House. According to its website, Ned’s Club London is ‘a place for diverse professionals to meet, work and have a good time’. Membership is priced at £4,000 per year.NEDs are usually paid for their time. How much they devote to their role varies according to the size and type of company, but they typically work two or three days a month. UK NED earnings start from a few thousand pounds a year, but according to executive-search firm Spencer Stuart, they can go up to £150,914.The Ned, a private social club created by the CEO of Soho House, opened its first NYC location this week.
