What is the difference between a spa and a spa resort?
While resorts and 5-star hotels have premium spa services, destination spas are the mack daddy of wellness, beautification, and stress relief. Destination spas offer all-inclusive services and usually specialize in beauty treatments and wellness treatments, massages, and healthy cuisine. Choosing the right spa resort for your needs start by considering the treatments offered. Some resorts specialize in specific services like hot stone massages, mud baths, or aromatherapy. Make sure the resort offers treatments that align with your wellness goals. Next, think about the resort’s location and ambiance.
What city is known as the city of spas?
Budapest is often called the ‘City of Spas’ — and for good reason. With over a dozen historic thermal baths to choose from, each visit is an immersion in history, culture, and well-being. I’d definitely recommend a visit while you’re in Budapest, especially on a hot day. The only downsides were that the water looked a bit ‘bitty’ in some of the indoor pools but this could’ve been because it’s direct from a thermal spa as it also had a sulphur smell. Also some indoor walks could use a lick of paint.
