Is Cowshed sulphate free?

Sulphates (SLS, SLES) are surfactant chemicals used to help cleaning products foam. Sulphates strip the skin of its natural protective oil barriers and often leave skin feeling taught, leathery and irritated. Cowshed products are sulphate free to maintain a healthy skin barrier function. SLS stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. We use a small amount of SLS in a small number of The Body Shop products. Our formulas that contain SLS also include moisturising ingredients or are very diluted to minimise the risk of irritation.Its ability to create foam and lather helps to lift away debris, leaving the skin feeling clean and refreshed. Oil Control: Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) can help to control excess oil production on the skin, making it particularly beneficial for individuals with oily or combination skin types.
