What do you do on a spa weekend?
The most common spa treatments are massages, manicures/pedicures and facials. However, you might also see offered such treatments as a body scrub/exfoliation, a fingers or toes file & polish (like a mini manicure or pedicure) or a scalp massage. All good spa treatments start with a consultation. The therapist will ask you questions about the condition of your skin, in order to tailor the treatment to your specific needs. The therapist should then talk you through the stages of the treatment, explaining the purpose and benefits of each.Upon arrival, you’ll be guided on how to prepare for your session, typically involving showering beforehand and using disposable undergarments provided by the spa. This ensures hygiene and comfort throughout the treatment.Showering after using the spa can help to remove any residual chlorine or other chemicals from your skin, which can help to prevent skin irritation or other problems. It can also help to remove any dirt, oils, or other substances that may have been introduced into the water during use.A spa bath is a spa treatment that usually takes place in a private treatment room, and will be just for you, or for you and your partner. The bathing experience will certainly feel more luxurious than your one at home.
What not to do before a spa day?
Before your spa day, avoid using any harsh skin products that might react with spa treatments. It’s also a good idea to exfoliate a day before, so your skin is primed to absorb the full benefits of any lotions or oils used during massages and treatments. Should I shave before my spa service(s)? We recommend allowing several hours between shaving and receiving any service that involves an exfoliation (body services, scrubs, facial) to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort.
Are spa days worth it?
If your life is constantly busy, spa days are the ultimate form of relaxation. You can indulge in treatments and pampering sessions from soothing massages, revitalising facials, and full body treatments that leave you feeling fresh and renewed. Key Differences Between a Retreat vs Vacation Activities: Retreats offer structured schedules with activities like yoga, meditation, or wellness workshops. Vacations tend to be more flexible, allowing for sightseeing, dining, or spontaneous excursions.Spa experiences are ideal when you value flexibility and want professional therapeutic treatments without a rigid schedule. On the other hand, a wellness retreat makes sense when you’re ready to make real changes in how you handle stress, improve your health habits, or address ongoing wellness challenges.
What is a private room in a spa?
These are private rooms in which you can enjoy a selection of pampering spa treatments, such as massages and facials. Many of our spa packages feature treatments, which will take place in one of these rooms. Removing too much clothing can create an uncomfortable situation for both you and your massage therapist. Another important thing to avoid during a massage is making noises. Sometimes when massages feel very good, or very intense, we start to make noises unknowingly. It is most common for clients to completely undress for their massage, especially if it is a full body massage, where the therapist will be working across your whole body. However, it’s completely up to you what you want to wear; undress to your level of comfort.Wear as much or as little clothing as you’d like during the massage. When it’s time for your appointment, feel free to take off some, all, or none of your clothing. Most people dress down to their underwear for the first time, while others are completely fine being naked under the massage blanket.Once you’re done with all the formalities the therapist will guide you to the spa room and give you a robe, disposable undergarments, slippers, and a towel. Be prepared to strip down. This is usually in the case of wraps, massages and scrubs.
