What not to do before a spa day?
Before your spa day, avoid using any harsh skin products that might react with spa treatments. It’s also a good idea to exfoliate a day before, so your skin is primed to absorb the full benefits of any lotions or oils used during massages and treatments. Should I shave before my spa service(s)? We recommend allowing several hours between shaving and receiving any service that involves an exfoliation (body services, scrubs, facial) to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort.

Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted with a fluffy robe to wear during your visit and Champneys flip flops to keep, which means you’ll have all the footwear you need for your time between spa treatments. Obviously for dinner, feel free to dress up and pop on a pair of heels if the mood takes you. There are no rules on what you should wear to your spa day, but we recommend something comfortable – you are coming to relax, so you do not need to wear formal attire or anything that may be uncomfortable or restrictive! That goes for your underwear too – comfy is the name of the game here.You can leave on your underwear, and you’ll still get the full benefits of the treatment. You can even bring your own bathing suit. Choose a roomy one; you don’t want restrictive clothing during a massage. If you do go bare, just know that you won’t feel exposed.In general, you should wear swimwear or underwear underneath a robe. You may well spend much of your day switching between the swimming pool, jacuzzi or steam room, so it makes sense to have your swimwear already on.What should I wear underneath my robe? This depends on what treatments you have booked and the facilities you would like to use. In general, you should wear either swimwear or underwear. If your booked treatment requires full or partial nudity, you will be given time to undress before the treatment starts.
