Why can’t I use my Companion voucher?
Just because you can book a seat with cash through a travel agent or the BA website doesn’t mean you can use your voucher. British Airways only offers a small number of seats on each flight for Avios redemptions. To be able to use your companion voucher, you’ll need to find two reward seats on the same flights. Reward Flights and Companion Voucher bookings are subject to availability and taxes, fees and carrier charges apply per person. Companion Vouchers can only be used when redeeming Avios for a British Airways, Iberia, or Aer Lingus Reward Flight seat in economy only.
