What do you wear to Bannatynes spa day?
What should I wear? Therapists are trained to respect client’s modesty at all times; for facials we recommend you remove your upper body clothing; for massages please leave underwear on. You will be covered by a towel throughout the treatment. If you are having a spray tan please wear loose dark clothing. It’s up to you. Women usually remove their bras to allow the massage therapist to work on the back and shoulder area without getting massage oil or lotion on the bra. If your problem area is your low back, hips, buttocks, or groin, tight-fitting or large underwear can sometimes get in the way of massage work. Most massage therapists prefer you remove your bra, especially for a full-body session, because it makes it easier to glide smoothly across your back and shoulders. But the golden rule is always your comfort. You can keep it on if removing it feels weird or uncomfortable. Some people prefer to keep their underwear on during the treatment, which is totally fine. If you’re wearing a bra, it would probably be beneficial to remove this so the therapist can work on your back properly.
What not to do before a spa?
Avoid Heavy Meals and Alcohol Eating a heavy meal or consuming alcohol before a visit can make you feel uncomfortable and less able to enjoy your treatment. Opt for a light snack and stay hydrated with water or herbal tea. Refrain from Loud Conversations Spas are designed to be quiet and serene. Eat Light Before Your Visit A heavy meal before your spa day can make you feel sluggish. Opt for something light, like fruit, yoghurt, or a salad, a couple of hours before your appointment. Heavy food may make it harder to relax, especially during massages or treatments that involve lying down.Once your treatments are complete, you can spend the rest of your spa day using the health and fitness facilities included as part of your package. You can have a dip in the pool, detox in the sauna, unwind in the relaxation room, or get your heart pumping in the gym* – it’s completely up to you.Eat healthy Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and proteins in your diet whenever possible, and limit your consumption of processed foods, sugar, and saturated fats. Try not to eat a heavy meal after your spa treatment, as it can make you feel bloated and less relaxed.
What not to do before a spa day?
Don’t wear makeup or perfume If you’re planning to enjoy treatments like facials, saunas, or steam rooms, it’s best to arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. This allows your pores to breathe and helps any products used during treatments work more effectively. You definitely do not need to wear makeup to the spa. In fact, we recommend you take this opportunity to let your skin breathe and your natural beauty shine through! It is best to not wear makeup in the facilities, so we recommend you remove it beforehand. For massages and body treatments, ideally you disrobe completely (that means underwear, too). Most spas offer paper panties to wear during body treatments (like scrubs, wraps, or self-tanning)—they don’t cover much, but enough to provide a modicum of modesty.Change of Clothes: Comfortable attire for after your treatments or if the spa has a gym, you could bring some spare gym clothes too. Footwear: Easy-to-remove shoes or flip-flops are handy. Most spas want you to be comfortable and relaxed, so arrive wearing loose, comfortable clothing like gym clothes, yoga pants and t-shirts. Once you are changed, you’ll be spending most of your time in a robe anyway! The spa does have a clothing optional section for those who enjoy nude bathing in mixed company, as well as traditional spa facilities where one can wear a bathing suit.
