How old are Champneys?
Founded in 1925, we’ve been at the forefront of wellness since our inception, when we emerged as one of the first health resorts in the world. Stanley Lief founded Champneys in Tring which started life as a Nature Cure Resort and was the first of its kind in the UK. Champneys Tring is the original spa influencer and the resort that started it all. As Britain’s original health spa, it is a location that has provided the backdrop to a vast array of beauty innovations and wellbeing breakthroughs – where it has led, others have followed.The business group Champneys is the brand name of a destination spa group, comprising four spa resorts, two hotels and six day spas owned by the Purdew family.
